Bookmarks On Muiltple Computers
February 26, 2007
Do you use more than one computer, maybe even different types such as a Mac, Linux or Windows? One thing that really bugs me is not having access to the same Bookmarks on each of these machines. I do use the social bookmarking web site called del.icio.us but I still prefer to have links I can access from within my web browser.
If you use Firefox Web Browser then Foxmarks is just the ticket. It creates an online account that keeps a copy of your Bookmarks which can then be synchronised between machines. Once setup and configured with your account details Foxmarks works in the background, its also free!

Office 2007 Compatibility Pack
February 19, 2007
Microsoft has recently release a new version of Office called Office 2007 surprisingly enough. Office XP and Office 2003 where fairly compatible with one another, meaning you could create a Word or Excel document in 2003 and email it to your colleague who has Office XP.
Office 2007 is less for giving as regards backwards compatibility with Office XP and 2003. You can tell Office 2007 to save in a Office 97-2003 compatible format but what if someone emails you a 2007 document? Well you need to download Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack which will allow you to edit, view and save Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents using Office XP or 2003 Edition.

Windows Vista First Impressions - Part One
February 14, 2007
So today I finally got round to installing Windows Vista (Business Edition). First impressions very pretty and very different from the last 6 or so releases of Windows since 3.1 back in the day. Connecting the PC to my Wireless network was a little tiresome because the control panel is completely different. It has side bar which you add various widgets such as clocks, news feeds and weather information etc.
Weblog Networking in Edinburgh
February 13, 2007
Over the past year I have been preaching to our clients (See Clutch and Clasp Blog) about the importance of weblogs to increase there web presence (Web Marketing, Community building, News, fresh content, customer loyalty etc). So over the last 12 months I have been looking at other business, in particular in the Edinburgh area who use a weblog to promote there business. This led me to Digital Agency who describe themselves as new kind online marketing company specialising in the world of Web 2.0. I left a couple of comments on Digital Agency weblog and exchanged a couple of emails. Couple of months later Digital Agency, or Mike should I say organised a coffee morning with other blogger’s, marketing guru’s, web developers, media people in the Edinburgh area.
So what I’m really saying here, there are real people and real businesses out there that use the weblogs!

Look me, Second in from the left!
