If you ever wanted to find out more about the Linux Operating System, this weekend could be a good starting point. The Debian Conference 2007, nicked named DebConf7 starts this weekend at the University of Edinburgh building Teviot between the 16th to 23rd of June.
Linux is a free alternative to Microsoft Windows and Apple’s OS X operating systems. Debian is a version of Linux; others include RedHat, Ubuntu and SuSE.
Debian Day
The conference starts on this Saturday the 16th with Debian Day, a short conference aimed at Debian users, and others interested in learning more about free software. Events should be suitable to both a technical and non-technical audience. With guess speakers from HP to Green Party, and sponsors include Google, Sun MicroSystems and Nokia to name a few.
