Understand your target audience, offering them what they want and your website will be a success. They also need to realise the web isn't a static medium. They must update their website with fresh content. Any web design agency that doesn't provide a CMS system to update the website is a Cowboy. Probably the best way to ensure you have a good website is to be very direct in your requests for the content to be included. BUT then you need to step back and allow the website designer (who knows far more about website designs than you and I) to then go ahead and compose the website using website conventions.
