Benefits and Weakness for Business Blogs

    Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Danielle of Pink Internet Marketing recently posted about Blogs as a Business Tools and included a very good link to the diagram above from Lewis 360. Having run business blog for the last year I generally agree with this model.

More information on these diagrams can be found in the white paper.

Nice Festival, Shame About The Website?

    Monday, June 25th, 2007

Like many music lovers, last Friday I was excited about the prospect of listening and watching some of my favourite bands (Chemical Brothers, Killers, Manics, Arctic Monkeys) perform at the Glastonbury Festival. Having been stung twice in the row by the weather in 1997 and 1998, I now prefer to watch from the comfort of my home, and […]

Plan Your Website, Save Money and Time

    Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

Planing your website will save you money, time and get you the website you want. Without the bricks (layout, content, photo’s etc) the web design agency can’t build your website successfully. Provide them the material and you will have more control over the web project.

Do You Know Your Web 2.0?

    Thursday, June 21st, 2007

eWeek has just posted a quiz on Web 2.0 for the Enterprise 2.0 conference currently running in Boston. I got six, maybe seven if we cheat a little.

Where did the term “Web 2.0″ originate?
Name three different versions for what RSS stands for?
    What is a trackback?
How much did News Corp. pay for MySpace?
    Name the founder of […]

Danielle from shopautodotca seocontest thanked me for bringing Windows Live Writer to her attention. Danielle was considering upgrading to Word 2007 to use its desktop blogging features.

How Good Is Your Business Blog - Part 7

    Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Biggest every increase on the blog juice front, 0.7 from last months 1.3 . Decided to add a little graph to display our progress. I was thinking about binning this feature but if the blog became popular I could show businesses how long it takes or how you could measure the progress.

I also check out how […]

    InternetWorld 2007 Exhibition

    Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

    Penalty Shoot Out
Last week it seemed like a good idea to fly* down to Earls Court, London to attend InternetWorld Exhibition. That was until Tuesday nights Champions League game went to extra time and penalties causing me to have another couple glasses of red wine. Anyway I managed to make the 8:25 flight from Edinburgh to […]

    Your Business Online

    Monday, April 30th, 2007

Colin Calder of the Scotsman has recently wrote an interesting article on online branding….
Recent research has suggested that businesses with a poor website actually alienated customers more than those with no online presence at all. The survey - carried out by research firm Tickbox.net - found that 85 per cent of customers have reservations about […]
