This morning I felt a little left out having not posted anything on the iHype iPhone. So here are my five reasons why I won’t be purchasing one, well not just yet…

Scoble has been doing some great blogging about the iPhone, he got one for his son but uses the Nokia N95 himself.
I am not to sure if I will be that keen on the iPhone myself, though I do hope to pick up the N95 when I upgrade at the end of the month.
The iPhone should have 3G when it is released in Europe this Autumn and apparently the battery life is pretty good so far, though I think any phone that only has a built in battery will always be less user-friendly than one where you can just swap in a fresh one.
The lack of Java and Flash are the real drawbacks in my mind, that and no video recording? This is the YouTube generation! ;-)

      - Apparently the n95 isn’t so great on battery life, but at least you could purchase another battery for it. I presume the iPhone is like the iPod, you can’t swap the battery without cracking it open with a screw driver. Plus the popularity of Nokia someone always has a nokia charger.
      - Good news on the 3G front, this might be one of the reasons for the delay
      - No Java and Flash is a disappointment.
      - But no video recording, that’s unbelievable!

I was thinking about N95 when my contract is up in a couple of month too. Simply because it has blogging client, 5mega camera and I think flickr app?

I’m not sure about the pre installed flickr app, but ShoZu is a free bit of software that you can download and configure to work with flickr, it may even work with your present phone.

I was wondering if the rumors are true that the iPhone has 3G in Europe?

Otherwise I thing 2G is just too slow for all those iPhone based internet applications. With the Google Maps feature included GPS would be a great thing to add but that might draw a lot of energy from the batteries.

Ben - I’m sure next year the iPhone two will be out! Although I have heard rumours that the Europe phone will have 3G. I still don’t understand why the phone doesn’t have video capabilities.
