Hibernating your laptop quickly when your plane is boarding or when your train arrives at your destination is very useful feature, but would you like to access this feature quicker?
A number of methods can be used but it all depends on your preference:-
- Start > Turn Off Computer > Wait until the shutdown dialog appears and hold down on the shift key > The Standby button will switch to Hibernate one.
- You can create a shortcut which can be placed anywhere on Windows. On the desktop right click for the context menu > new > shortcut.
1) Paste the following into the text box C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Hibernate
2) Click next and give the shortcut a name, Hibernate might be a descriptive one! Click on Finish, you are then free to move the shortcut to anywhere onĀ your PC
- You can also tell your laptop to do this when you shut the lid or press the power button. Start > Control Panel > Power Options and look under the advance tab.You can also enable hibernation from this location, under the hibernation tab.
