How Good Is Your Business Blog - December

    By Jamie | January 21, 2008

How good is your business blog is a monthly review on Terinea Weblog progress. I have listed a number of methods to measuring your blog progress. Keeping a record on your blog progress helps to give you encouragement in the early days and hope for the future.

The combination of Christmas and receiving 1,500 hits in one day always meant that Decembers Page Views and Unique Visitors would never beat Novembers. On the whole the blog seems of recovered fully from the move back in September.

Not a record month, but second best so far.

Page Views 6,992 and Unique Vistors 4,592

Technorati rank and authority are verging on last years May/June figures.

Comments are down, but then I posted a lot less in December. Although I was fairly excited when the blog hit a 100 readers in December. This has meant the average has increased to 89 from 80, excellent!

As expected the Blog Juice increases. At this rate we should be matching last years record by March.

      Great stats Jamie.

From now on you shall be known by me as; ‘The Master’ or perhps ‘Statto’ has a better ring to it ;-)

Incidentally, what did you use to produce those graphics, it from a specific analytics package?

Mike (Richard) - Statto sounds good. Excel 2007, Microsoft seems to of styled the graphics in a “Web 2.0″ format.

In a couple of months I will have a full years worth of stats. Although you can’t really measure blogging, it would be good to say to clients, if you meet X hits a day you will have Y comments a week and Z links (Google Juice etc) a week.

More importantly for me, 10 business contacts or friends in your case, that I didn’t have last time this year.

      Jamie

PS - Won’t be coffee morning this week, down south.
