How good is your business blog - September
By Jamie | October 1, 2007
How good is your business blog is a monthly review on Terinea Weblog progress. I have listed a number of methods to measuring your blog progress. Keeping a record on your blog progress helps to give you encouragement in the early days and hope for the future.
Some interesting increases and decreases this month due to a number of factors. Which I think highlights the need to measure the progress of your business blog using a number of metrics.
These factors where…
- No really blog posts last week , Taking a week off from blogging (Drop in traffic and comments)
- Terinea being one of the sponsors for David Airey $4,000 competition (Technorati increase and RSS subscriptions)
- Blogging template modifications and integrating feedburner RSS feed into WordPress (Increase in RSS subscriptions)
Blog Juice
An increase of 0.7 to 3.6 from last months 2.9 Blog Juice rating. This was largely due to the massive increase of my Technorati ranking. At the same time the blog juice did take a bit of a knock when the number of Blogline subscribers almost halved.
Page Views & Unique Visitors
A dip in the number of unique visitors and page views this month. This is probably due to the lack of posts last week and maybe more people are using RSS subscription to read my blog.
Technorati Authority and Rank
An enormous increase in this months Technorati rank and authority. This was due to David Airey $4,000 competition which gave me well over 100 back links.
Comments and RSS Subscriptions
Although my Technorati rank and authority increase dramatically this month, I was more pleased that the number of RSS subscriptions increased. Number of comments hadn’t increased, although I expect this was the lack of blog posts from last week.

Nice analysis, Jamie, and I’m glad the sponsorship gave you some credit.

It’s looking good and clearly shows you are on the right track - that massive increase in technorati is something you should be proud of - keep it up!
