How Good is Your Business Blog?

    By Jamie | July 2, 2007

    My Blog Juice

A 0.4 increase on last months 2.0 blog juice. This month I’ve added the number of comments left on the site per month. I feel this is a good indication on blog performance. The blog has definitely had an improvement in traffic, rankings and comments which is good news. My plan was always to try and hit a Technorati Ranking of 100,000 by the of the year. At the current rate I will meet this goal within the next two months, but can I keep the momentum up?

Interesting stats nicely presented - your example gives me hope! I just scored 0.8 at Blog Juice for my Blog (where you were back in February 2007!) and a Technorati rating of 1,750,809. The curious thing for me is what makes one post more interesting than another and encouraging others to leave comments in order to build a dialogue - I guess that is the magic formula that many Bloggers are searching for. Jas.

Things I have done in the last five months are…
      - Seek other bloggers with similar blogs (You)
      - Select a group of blogs and comment on them/links etc on regular basis
      - Meet other bloggers in flesh (Edinburgh Coffee Morning/Beer 2.0) has help massively
      - Changed the layout of the site, although I’m planning a new site at the moment
      - Always response to comments/ thank them
      - Submit to digg/delicious
      - Think if what I’m blogging about is really useful, otherwise bin it
      - Blog regularly but not too much unless you have a big following

The problem with Technical/Computer blogs is there are so many. Guys like us have had the skills/tools to do this website stuff from day one. Others industries haven’t, so hence saturation hasn’t been reached maybe?

I think your blog will be a big success soon, I think the cartoons will help you with that.
